The Almetyevsk branch of KIU, with the support of the Head and the Department of Education of the Almetyevsk municipal district, held the I All-Russian Conference "Our Great Small Homeland: Past, Present, Future" at a high scientific and organizational level, dedicated to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia. A warm friendly atmosphere was created for its participants. The guests were attracted by the exhibition of the series of books "Treasury of Tatarstan" published by "Knowledge" and the display of authentic wedding outfits of Tatars, Russians, Chuvash, and Mordvins. The Union of Wives, Mothers, and Sisters of Servicemen from Almetyevsk demonstrated the results of their work in support of participants of the Special Military Operation. The plenary session was opened by the director of the Almetyevsk branch, I.V. Mirgaleeva. The significance of the forum was emphasized by the addresses of honored guests. The conference was greeted by Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation A.F. Yagafarov, Honorary Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan and Honorary Citizen of Almetyevsk F.H. Mukhametshin, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Head of the Regional Branch of the All-Russian Public-State Movement of Children and Youth "Movement of the First" of the Republic of Tatarstan T.D. Suleimanov, Deputy Head of the Almetyevsk municipal district of the Republic of Tatarstan R.E. Aflyatunova, and Head of the Department of Education of the Almetyevsk municipal district of the Republic of Tatarstan I.A. Pavlovskaya.
The plenary part featured substantial reports. The First Vice-Rector of KIU, Deputy of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan I.I. Bikeyev proved that the small homeland is the primary space for preserving civilizational identity, forming basic ideas about good, duty, and morality. O.D. Agapov, the advisor to the rector on strategic initiatives at KIU, substantiated the thesis that Russia is a unique civilization with a centuries-old history, a special path of development, and a significant role in the world. In the report by I.G. Morozova, Deputy Director of the Institute of Pedagogical Innovations and Inclusive Education at KIU, issues of integrating migrant children into the educational process and society were discussed. The Director of the Memorial Museum of Rizaeddin Fakhreddin D.G. Gimranova spoke about outstanding figures in the fields of Tatar educational thought and journalism. The report by historian and local historian S.V. Nedobezhkin showed how studying one's native land shapes civic identity and moral guidelines.
The moderator of the strategic session "Adaptation and Integration of Migrant Children in the Context of State Policy" was also I.G. Morozova. It was attended by representatives of the authorities of the Republic of Tatarstan and municipal formations, law enforcement agencies, educational and public organizations, specialists in pedagogy, psychology, and sociology.
An important part of the conference was the competition of research works "From the Roots of the Past to the Peaks of the Present and Future of My Small Homeland" for students in grades 7-11 and students of secondary vocational education institutions. The competition showed that interest in native culture is a living search, a sincere desire to understand and preserve what is dear. Each presented work is a small bridge between the past and the future. Schoolchildren did not just study history: they interviewed locals, collected family archives, recorded recipes, photographed old houses, created maps of memorable places, and reflected on the economic development of the regions of Russia.
The conference proved to be a significant platform for exchanging experiences, discussing current issues, and developing joint solutions for preserving historical and cultural heritage, strengthening the unity of the peoples of Russia, and developing regions.
