Residents of the Republic of Tatarstan have increasingly chosen to travel within their home region. According to statistics, residents are booking hotels in Tatarstan 10% more often.
As analysts from "Yandex Travel" found out, this year hotel bookings within the region increased by 10% compared to an earlier period. Tourists are not deterred by the cost of accommodation: the average price per night is about seven thousand rubles. The main flow is directed to Kazan, which accounts for 67% of all bookings. A night in the capital of the republic will cost on average five thousand rubles. Naberezhnye Chelny is also popular with a similar price of five thousand, and Nizhnekamsk, where accommodation costs about six thousand rubles per night. Most travelers (72%) prefer to stay in hotels, where the average cost per night reaches 7,500 rubles. Residents prefer the mid-price segment: three-star hotels were chosen by 32% of respondents (5,960 rubles per room), while four-star hotels were chosen by 27% (10,120 rubles). Due to such demand, Tatarstan has already entered the top ten regions of Russia in terms of hotel and apartment bookings for 2026, notes the service. Typically, travelers go on short weekend trips: they book accommodation for two people and on average for two nights. Most pay for accommodation upfront, however, 26% prefer to split the cost into several payments. It was previously reported that Tatarstan was noted in the top regions for the number of "weekend tourists" – such trips are convenient, affordable, and easily fit into even a tight schedule. It was also reported earlier that grain coffee has become more expensive in Tatarstan. According to Rosstat data for February 2026, a cup of this drink with a volume of 200 grams in fast food establishments costs residents of the republic an average of 99.96 rubles. This is 14.3 percent more expensive than in February of last year.
