      The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil to Russia, Sergio Rodrigues dos Santos, visited the Plenipotentiary Representation of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation. He met with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Plenipotentiary Representative of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation, Ravil Akhmetshin. Sergio Rodrigues dos Santos began his work in Moscow in August 2025, and this is his first visit to the Tatarstan Representation in the capital. Ravil Kalimullovich noted that cooperation with Brazil is very important for Tatarstan. "We have prospects for further development. I am sure that your visit to our republic will become a new impetus for successful and long-term interaction," he said and invited the Brazilian Ambassador to Tatarstan. Sergio Rodrigues dos Santos expressed his desire to visit the republic in the near future. "We know about the role of Tatarstan in the economic and cultural life of the country. Therefore, it is important for us to establish direct ties with the region. I hope that today's meeting will contribute to deepening our relations with the republic," he added. It is worth recalling that last year at the BRICS Summit in Kazan, Brazil was represented by a delegation of more than 150 people led by the country's Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira. The parties at the meeting in the Representation discussed opportunities for activating trade-economic, scientific-educational, and cultural cooperation. It should be noted that ballet artists from Brazil work in the troupe of the Tatar Opera and Ballet Theater named after M. Jalil. At the meeting, a staff member of the Representation, Dina Sheveleva, presented the economic and investment potential of the region and spoke about the major industrial enterprises of the republic. "I promise to see this with my own eyes," emphasized the Brazilian Ambassador. The promising areas of cooperation between Tatarstan and Brazil include the oil and gas industry, the development of cooperation in machine engineering, shipbuilding, automotive engineering, as well as medicine and pharmaceuticals. Brazil is one of the largest producers of halal meat in the world, despite not being a Muslim country. Therefore, promising areas of cooperation include joint projects in animal husbandry, crop production, etc.
