The Republican agency "Tatmedia" together with the Tatar Book Publishing House announced the start of the second season of the competition "Geroilar yanashe" - "Heroes Nearby". Authors are invited to participate, ready to tell about the courage and resilience of the natives of Tatarstan, demonstrated during the Special Military Operation. The main goal of the competition is to preserve traditional values and foster patriotism through literature. The organizers have set clear requirements for the works: they must have been created no earlier than 2022 and not previously participate in other competitions. The theme remains unchanged - the valor, selflessness, and heroism of warriors from Tatarstan. This year, the organizers of the competition have expanded the genre palette. In addition to traditional nominations - "Novella", "Short Story", "Poem or Cycle of Poems" and "Essay" - a new nomination "Novel" has been added. Applications for the award in the new nominations are accepted in two language groups: Russian and Tatar. The acceptance of works for the competition is already open. For authors wishing to try their hand in the categories "Novella", "Short Story", "Poem" and "Essay", the deadline is set for August 1, 2026. Participants presenting novels have an extension: their works are awaited until October 15, 2026.
