In Yelabuga, the strongest korash wrestlers have been determined.
The matches took place in nine weight categories: 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, and 100 kg. The championship of Tatarstan in Koryesh among boys born in 2010-2011 concluded in Yelabuga, with prizes from the magazine "Yalkyn." The competitions were held in an athletic arena – 345 athletes from 41 districts of the republic, including 9 boys from Yelabuga, competed for the awards. The second day of the competition was traditionally the hottest: it was during the decisive stage that the final bouts took place, determining the strongest. The arena erupted with the shouts of fans, emotional disputes over referee scores, and, of course, the jubilation of the winners. Some of them even celebrated their victories with somersaults – this is something to see with your own eyes. The matches took place in nine weight categories: 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, 80, and 100 kg. Some bouts ended early – with a "clean" victory in Koryesh, while others lasted until the last seconds, keeping the entire hall in suspense. The first places were distributed as follows: 45 kg – Ayaz Faizrakhmanov (Arsk) 50 kg – Amir Khanbikov (Almetyevsk) 55 kg – Nursaid Kharisov (Naberezhnye Chelny) 60 kg – Radmir Khanov (Mamadish) 65 kg – Ildan Giniyatullin (Bogatyye Saby) 70 kg – Azamat Gazymov (Bavly) 75 kg – Aizat Gazymov (Bavly) 80 kg – Fanis Faskhetdinov (Arsk) 100 kg – Islam Kupkenov (Naberezhnye Chelny) The success of the Yelabuga team The students of the Yelabuga district also climbed onto the podium, showing worthy competition: 2nd place (60 kg) – Stanislav Gavrilov 2nd place (75 kg) – Bilal Galimov 3rd place (80 kg) – Ramazan Shakirov In the overall team standings of the championship, the first place was taken by athletes from Naberezhnye Chelny, second place went to wrestlers from Saby, and third place was taken by representatives from Kukmor. Yelabuga ranked 10th, which the coaching staff calls significant progress. "Our guys were really looking forward to this championship and trained hard. Taking 10th place among 47 teams is a good result; we are developing and rising in this sport," commented Ilnar Galimov, head of the sports development sector of the Executive Committee of the Yelabuga Municipal District, who also acted as the team's coach. "Three prize winners is certainly something to be happy about. The other guys stopped just a step away from the podium, taking 6th-7th places, which is also a good result. They did well. We will continue to work, analyze mistakes. Koryesh is a tradition of our people, and we must preserve it. Thanks to the parents for sending their children to this sport. As long as we have such guys, Koryesh will live on our land. Special thanks for the support at the republican and district levels, thank you, Rustem Midkhatovich. We will continue to work." The coach himself worried for each of his wrestlers as if he were on the mat himself. These emotions, he admits, are hard to describe in words: every coach rejoices for their ward as if for themselves, as they invest their whole soul into the work. A star from Arsk: nine years on the path to victory Special attention deserves the performance of Ayaz Faizrakhmanov from the Arsk district, who became the winner in the category up to 45 kg. The 15-year-old athlete has been practicing wrestling for nine years. His older brother Raynur, who also lives this sport, pointed him towards Koryesh. "I am participating in the Tatarstan championship for the third time. In the first year, I took third place, last year – first, and now again first," shared Ayaz. Despite the fact that Koryesh is a dangerous sport, the young man admits that it does not scare him. The most challenging for him was the final fight with an opponent from Naberezhnye Chelny – Ranil Zagriyev. Everyone who attended these competitions could feel the unique atmosphere that reigned in the arena. This true men's sport once again proved that it can captivate and enchant even those who were previously uninterested in wrestling.
