Doctors of the BSMU saved the life of a patient with a ruptured brain vessel.

      A 41-year-old patient was urgently admitted to the Emergency Medical Care Hospital (EMCH) with a massive brain hemorrhage caused by a ruptured aneurysm. Thanks to the prompt actions of a multidisciplinary team of specialists, the woman's life was saved, and severe neurological consequences were prevented. The patient experienced a sudden deterioration in her condition with a loss of coordination while outside. After neighbors provided assistance, an ambulance team was called, which urgently transported the woman to the hospital. "It was necessary to act quickly, as the patient's condition was worsening due to very high blood pressure - the upper numbers on the sphygmomanometer were approaching '300'. A multidisciplinary team of the hospital was assembled: neurosurgeons, resuscitators, and interventional radiologists," recalled the chief freelance resuscitator of Naberezhnye Chelny, Vasily Fazylov. "The first step was to perform an emergency operation. Under the microscope, we placed a special clip on the neck of the aneurysm to prevent re-bleeding. After the operation, the patient was in the intensive care unit, where she continuously received intensive therapy," noted neurosurgeon Ilshat Gaisin. After the initial stabilization of her condition, a life-threatening complication arose - a spasm of the cerebral vessels. The narrowing of the arteries caused a critical disruption of blood supply, creating a high risk of death or severe disability. The interventional radiologists at EMCH decided to perform chemangioplasty - a procedure for locally widening the narrowed artery. "Under X-ray control, we introduced a medication directly into the spastic area of the cerebral vessel through a microcatheter. This allowed us to literally expand the vessel by millimeters, restore full blood flow, and saturate the brain tissues with oxygen," said interventional radiologist Dmitry Yadykov. The coordinated work of the medical staff completely eliminated the life-threatening threat. During her stay in the hospital, on March 5, the patient turned 42 years old.

      Four weeks after hospitalization, there is a pronounced positive dynamics: the patient has regained her speech, and her skills for eating independently and moving have returned.
