Schoolchildren from Kukmor and Alexeyevsky districts will represent Tatarstan at the regional 3x3 basketball tournament.

      On March 28-29, the republican (third) stage of the tournament of the Volga Federal District in 3x3 basketball among students of general education organizations concluded in Mamadysh. The winners among boys and girls earned the right to represent Tatarstan in the district final in Nizhny Novgorod. The competitions, held under the patronage of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Volga Federal District Igor Komarov, gathered the strongest school teams from the republic. Participants included boys and girls from grades 8-11 (born in 2008-2011). Each municipal district could send two teams – one boys' team and one girls' team. Each team consisted of four athletes and one coach.

      As a result of the two competitive days, the girls' winner was the team from the Kukmor municipal district (School No. 4, Sports Club "Azart"). The second place was taken by the team from the Baltasinsky district (Nurminskaya Secondary School, Sports Club "Norma"). The bronze medalists were the basketball players from the Zainsk district (School No. 7, Sports Club "Iskra").

      Among boys, the first place was taken by the team from the Alekseevsky district (Alekseevskaya Secondary School No. 1, Sports Club "Phoenix"). The silver medals went to the team from the Sabinsky district (Timershiksaya Secondary School, Sports Club "Young Olympian"). The third place was secured by the boys from the Zelenodolsky district (Lyceum No. 9 named after Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin, Sports Club "Compass").

      The best players of the tournament were recognized among girls – Dilya Karimova (Kukmor district), and among boys – Niyaz Muratov (Alekseevsky district).

      Thus, Tatarstan will be represented at the district final of 3x3 basketball, which will take place in April in Nizhny Novgorod, by the winning teams from the Kukmor and Alekseevsky districts. The competitive series will continue with tournaments among students. On April 4, games will be held among students of vocational education organizations at the cultural and sports complex "Uniks" in Kazan, and on April 5 – among university students. The winners in each category will also earn the right to represent Tatarstan at the district super final.
