We have an additional 2 meters in reserve for accepting meltwater," he reported. The republic has two major reservoirs – the Kuibyshev and Nizhnekamsk reservoirs. The Kuibyshev Reservoir is the main regulator of the flow of the Volga-Kama cascade. The operating modes of the reservoir are established by Rosvodresursy based on the decisions of the interdepartmental working group, which includes representatives from Tatarstan. Meetings are held monthly, and during the flood period – two to three times a month. According to Ziganshin, the current operating mode of the reservoir is set at 6400-6500 cubic meters, which ensures safe operation and functioning. "Our staff monitors the operating modes of the reservoirs of the Volga-Kama cascade daily using the software complex 'HydroCascade'," noted Ziganshin.

      According to forecasts, starting from April 2, the water level will begin to rise. Tomorrow, another meeting of the interdepartmental working group will take place, where the further operating mode of the reservoirs will be determined.
