Energy Forum-2026 in Kazan: the international forum presented the latest developments in energy.
The energy system of Tatarstan is operating in new modes for itself, regularly updating historical consumption power records, said Rustam Minnikhanov today at the plenary session of the international forum "EnergoProm." It officially opened today at Kazan Expo, where the latest developments were presented at a large-scale exhibition. Inna Danilova reports on this. The innovations at the "EnergoProm" exhibition have sparked excitement in both adults and children, especially among hereditary energy workers. For instance, third-grader Samat, who was brought to the forum by his uncle, enthusiastically explored the exhibition. "There are many panels, everything is interesting, electrical. I really like all of this," says Samat Bilyalov. Most of the energy devices presented by Belarus are the result of successful cooperation with Russia, which allows them to avoid dependence on European supplies. "We noticed the principles on which Russian networks are built and operated. There is much to learn. We will return home and discuss how this can be applied in Belarus," noted Dmitry Protosovitsky, the general director of an energy company from the Republic of Belarus. The Chinese company producing industrial cables is also focused on fruitful cooperation with Russia and Tatarstan as a key region of the country. "Tatarstan is a wonderful republic. We look to the future with optimism and plan to create a joint venture for the production of industrial cables in Tatarstan," says Zenchhua Hu, deputy director of the cable manufacturing company from the People's Republic of China. Almost 120 companies presented their innovations and technologies at the "EnergoProm" exhibition—from hyper-maxi to super-mini. "EnergoProm-2026" is the first exhibition of this format with federal status. At the same time, the Kazan Expo venue has long had international status, and this year it became the most attended in the history of the event. Representatives of the industry, leadership from CIS countries, and friendly nations attended the solemn opening ceremony of the forum. "I am very glad that the Supplier's Day is taking place within the framework of the forum. We have great respect for those who produce equipment, technologies, machines, and mechanisms. At the forum, we show what we have achieved and what we can do as we move forward," noted Sergey Tsivilev, the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation. "Quality of life is the economy, and the economy is energy," emphasized Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan. Therefore, the "EnergoProm" platform in Tatarstan is so important. "This is an authoritative exhibition platform that traditionally gathers leading companies and organizations in the energy sector to exchange experiences and present new developments and technologies," said Viktor Karankevich, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus. The first project in Russia on "Cyber Testing" by the company "Innostage" drew special interest, becoming the basis for a new federal cybersecurity program. "White hackers" identify vulnerabilities in companies' defenses and help eliminate them. "Now we all face significant cybersecurity threats, but no one knows how safe a company is. We offer solutions that allow managers to realistically assess security through cyber testing and enterprise checks with 'white hat' hacker attacks," says Aidar Guzairov, the CEO of "Innostage." "We are creating the energy of the future" is one of the key theses of the plenary session of the "EnergoProm-2026" forum, whose motto is "GOELRO-2.0: The Revival of a Legend." Just as in the early 1920s, energy has come to the forefront again. Russia and Tatarstan are rich in both fossil and electrical resources, which is the key to the prosperity of current and future generations. "We are a large consumer of energy. Our task is to ensure the reliability of the energy system. Cybersecurity and the competitiveness of electricity and heat producers are also important. We discuss all these issues. The goal is not to buy from the wholesale energy market but to sell there and conduct business," noted Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The dialogue on successful interaction in the energy sector continued at the meeting of the CIS Electric Power Council, where the effectiveness of the Kazan "EnergoProm" platform was particularly noted. "Our country shows the whole world that we are a reliable partner that fulfills its obligations. More and more countries want to build relationships with Russia. This is the main driver of the forum. And Rustam Nurgalievich, thank you very much!" said Sergey Tsivilev, the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation. Several agreements and memorandums were signed on the sidelines of the forum, among the key ones being between the Ministry of Energy of Russia and the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan on expanding cooperation in the field of electric power.
