      The Chairwoman of the Federation Council, Valentina Matviyenko, stated that the state has no right to prohibit matters concerning private life and expressed confidence that there will be no ban on abortions in Russia, reports RIA Novosti citing the information service "Vesti." The speaker of the upper house of parliament noted that the right to choose remains with the woman. At the same time, she added that the state, the church, society, and medical professionals must do everything possible to dissuade a woman from this serious step, which she may later regret. Matviyenko emphasized that if the decision is final, then the woman must have the right to implement it. The Chairwoman of the Federation Council also drew attention to the role of men, noting that they should not remain on the sidelines. According to her, men should be there for their beloved women and take on their share of responsibility.
