The authorities of Tatarstan plan to limit the number of pets in apartments to a norm of 18 square meters per animal.
The resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic is undergoing anti-corruption expertise. In Tatarstan, additional requirements for the keeping of pets are planned to be introduced. This concerns the introduction of a standard of 18 square meters per one pet. The corresponding resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic is undergoing anti-corruption expertise. "To keep in residential premises of an apartment building no more than one dog or no more than one cat for every 18 square meters of the total area of the living space," the document states. "Business Online" also reports that it is planned to prohibit keeping dogs that are considered potentially dangerous in communal apartments or living spaces occupied by several families. Recall that last autumn it became known that a bill would be submitted to the State Duma of the Russian Federation that establishes a standard for the number of pets allowed to be kept in an apartment. According to the document, for every 18 square meters of housing, one adult animal (dog or cat) can be kept. Currently, in Tatarstan, there is a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers from 2024, according to which small breed dogs must have at least 2.5 square meters of living space per individual, for medium-sized dogs — 3.5 square meters, and for large breed dogs — 5 square meters. If the federal law is adopted, the resolution will be canceled, previously explained Azat Khamaev, chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Committee on Ecology, Natural Resource Management, Agro-Industrial and Food Policy.
