In Tatarstan, the spring sowing in 2026 is planned to be carried out on an area of 1.7 million hectares. The first deputy minister of agriculture and food of the republic, Lenar Garipov, reported on the preparation for spring field work at a meeting in the Government House of the Republic of Tatarstan, as conveyed by the press service of the President of Tatarstan. The meeting was chaired by the President of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, with the participation of the Prime Minister of Tatarstan, Alexey Pesoshin, and the acting Chairman of the State Council of Tatarstan, Marat Akhmetov. This week, farms in nine districts began fertilizing crops. To date, 1,323 hectares of winter crops and 595 hectares of perennial grasses have been processed. To maintain yield, it is necessary to fertilize 485,000 hectares of winter crops and 309,000 hectares of perennial grasses as soon as possible. At a daily rate of 40,000 hectares, the work will take about 20 days. For the current year's harvest, farmers have purchased 395,000 tons of mineral fertilizers, which averages 67.7 kg of active substance per hectare. Over the past two weeks, an additional 49,000 tons of fertilizers have been acquired. The provision of seeds for spring grain crops stands at 128%. Specialists from the Rosselkhoztsentr have checked the sowing quality of more than 250,000 tons of grain, exceeding 100% of the required volume. Over the past two weeks, this figure has increased by 8%. Contracts have been signed for 91% of corn and sunflower seeds, as well as 100% of sugar beet seeds, with deliveries proceeding on schedule. From March 23 to 27, commission checks of the readiness of agricultural enterprises for the sowing campaign took place in the republic's districts with the participation of the State Technical Supervision of Tatarstan and Rosselkhoztsentr. High readiness was shown by the farms of the Aktanysh, Arsk, Atninsky, Baltasinsky, Buinsky, Drozhzhanovsky, Zainsky, Kukmor, Leninogorsk, Tukaev, and several other districts. Special attention is paid to staffing. Farms actively interact with colleges and universities, attracting senior students. They are provided with accommodation, meals, and salaries. More than 6,600 students are studying in agricultural educational institutions in the republic, of which about 1,700 are ready to undergo internships during the fieldwork period, and over 1,000 are already assigned to farms.
To support enterprises in the agro-industrial complex, reimbursement of costs for wages and accommodation of students is provided: 90% for students studying at agricultural universities and 30% for students of secondary specialized educational institutions.
