This was reported by the Deputy Minister of Finance of Tatarstan, Gela Gerasimova, at a meeting of the State Council Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan on budget, taxes, and finance. "Compared to 2024, the level of debt burden decreased by 2.6%," she said. Gerasimova noted that interest payments for the use of federal budget loans were made on time, totaling 727 million rubles, and the repayment of the principal debt was made according to the payment schedule – 1.8 billion rubles. "There is no overdue debt on the republic's debt obligations. The level of debt burden for 2025 was 19.9%, which corresponds to high debt sustainability," she emphasized. Last year, Tatarstan received a treasury infrastructure loan from the federal budget for the "Eco-District" project in Kazan in the amount of 1.5 billion rubles, the deputy minister added. "Since last year, Tatarstan has been participating in the implementation of a new mechanism for writing off two-thirds of the debt on federal budget loans, in accordance with the opportunities provided at the federal level," she reminded.

      Under this mechanism, the republic is eligible for debt write-off in the amount of 44.5 billion rubles, Gerasimova clarified.
