Residents of the republic have paid more than 5 million rubles for running a red light since the beginning of the year
According to the results of the first three months of 2026, 3,500 drivers were recorded in Tatarstan who ran a red light. The fine for such a violation is 1,500 rubles.
Since the beginning of the year, about 3,500 cases of running a red light have been recorded on the roads of Tatarstan. This is reported by "Tatar-inform," citing data from the State Traffic Inspectorate. The administrative fine for such a violation is 1,500 rubles. In case of repeated violations, the fine increases to 7,500 rubles or a suspension of driving rights for a period of 4 to 6 months is imposed. It is worth noting that earlier the agency reported that in 2025, 345 people died on the roads of the republic, and since the beginning of the current year, 58 people have already died. In addition, it was reported that from April 1 to April 30, temporary traffic restrictions will be introduced on regional roads in Tatarstan for vehicles with axle loads exceeding 6 tons. The Ministry of Transport of the republic explained that this measure is related to the reduction of the load-bearing capacity of the roads due to over-saturation in the spring period and will help preserve the operational qualities of the highways. Recently, it was reported that more than 200 billion rubles will be allocated for road repairs in Tatarstan. According to the government decree, the main volume of funds – over 183.8 billion rubles – is allocated for work on the M7 "Volga" highway. In particular, the continuation of the construction of the bypass around Naberezhnye Chelny and Nizhnekamsk will cost more than 83.6 billion rubles, and the reconstruction of the bridge over the Sviyaga River will cost almost 6.4 billion rubles. In addition, federal funds are planned to be directed towards the installation of streetlights on the M7 and R-239 highways, and the arrangement of 22 pedestrian crossings on the M7 highway.
