The operation modes of the reservoirs of the Volga-Kama cascade are regulated by Rosvodresursy. At a meeting of the interdepartmental working group chaired by the Deputy Head of Rosvodresursy Vadim Nikanorov on April 9, they were adjusted taking into account the spring situation. Active development of the spring flood is observed on the Kama and Middle Volga. Therefore, a decision was made the day before to increase discharges through the Kama hydro facilities. This was reported today to Tatar-inform by the press service of Rosvodresursy.
Taking into account the recommendations of the interdepartmental working group on regulating the operation modes of the reservoirs of the Volga-Kama cascade for the period from April 11 to April 30, average daily discharge rates at the Kuibyshev Reservoir are set at 10,000 to 26,000 cubic meters per second. Maximum discharge rates of 26,000 cubic meters per second are planned for the period from April 18 to April 22. By April 30, they will be reduced to 21,000 cubic meters per second.
"The operation modes of the cascade hydro facilities can be promptly adjusted in case of changes in the hydrometeorological situation," emphasized the press service of Rosvodresursy.
Representatives from all interested regions participated in the interdepartmental working group meeting, which took place yesterday via videoconference. Tatarstan was represented by the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan Azat Ziganshin.
