Russia has ceased hostilities for the duration of the Easter truce announced by the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin. It came into effect at 4 PM on April 11 according to Moscow time and will remain in force until the end of the day on April 12. Earlier, the Russian leader instructed the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Andrei Belousov, and the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation – Commander of the Joint Group of Forces, Army General Valery Gerasimov, to temporarily halt hostilities in all directions. At the same time, the troops must be ready to thwart possible provocations and any aggressive actions from the enemy. When announcing the truce, the Kremlin's press service expressed hope that the Ukrainian side would follow Russia's example. Later, Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky stated that Ukraine is ready to act reciprocally.
