The authorities of Tatarstan plan to pay one million rubles to those doctors who are willing to move to rural areas.

      Currently, the staffing of doctors in the healthcare system of the republic is 71%. The Ministry of Health of Tatarstan plans to provide a one-time assistance of one million rubles to those doctors who are willing to relocate to work in rural medical and obstetric points (FAP). The corresponding draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic is undergoing interdepartmental coordination, said Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilnur Sibgatov, as reported by "Real Time." He specified that the planned payments are intended for non-local general practitioners, pulmonologists, and gynecologists who start working in rural areas from January 1, 2026. In total, according to Sibgatov, it is planned to attract 569 specialists from various regions, including from distant and near foreign countries. The measure will not apply to doctors registered in Tatarstan, "Real Time" clarifies. Ilnur Sibgatov stated that currently, the staffing of doctors in the healthcare system of the republic is 71%. There is a severe shortage of doctors in small towns: for example, in Bugulma, he specified. Recall that in the fourth quarter of 2025, 4,900 employees in the public administration sector, 4,600 healthcare and social services workers, and 3,800 teachers lost their jobs in Russia. This was reported in March by the newspaper "Vedomosti," citing data from Rosstat. The total number of laid-off employees across all sectors of the economy in October–December 2025 increased by 59% year-on-year to 32,600 people.
