The selection of projects for participation in the second stage of the "KIU Accelerator – 2026 (spring)" program (first Demo Day) took place at KIU.

      At the Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov, the long-awaited results of the first selection of startup projects for participation in the second stage of the project track of the "KIU Accelerator – 2026 (spring)" program have been announced. This event has become an important milestone for many ambitious teams striving to gain support and resources for the further development of their initiatives. Since the launch of the acceleration program, 65 applications have been submitted, each of which underwent thorough examination by professional curators in technological areas. In 2026, the key focus of the program became the NTI Neuronet market. Special attention is paid to the synergy of neurotechnologies with other industries, which opens up additional opportunities for interdisciplinary solutions and technological breakthroughs. The accelerator covers a number of promising segments:

      Neuroassistants — the development of natural language processing and machine learning technologies to create personal digital assistants.

      Neuroeducation — the implementation of neurointerfaces, virtual and augmented reality technologies, as well as solutions for enhancing memory and analyzing cognitive resources.

      Neurocommunications and marketing — predicting user behavior based on neuro and biometric data, developing neuromarketing and recommendation systems.

      Sports and health — creating neuroalgorithms for analyzing health status, processing data, and forming personalized recommendations.

      The first stage of the project track concluded with the defense of 50 startup projects before an expert commission. Each team demonstrated a high level of elaboration, uniqueness, and an innovative approach.

      During the work with mentors and trackers, with the support of the university's laboratories, participants significantly strengthened their projects:

      - formed positioning in terms of contribution to the socio-economic development and technological sovereignty of Russia;

      - adapted solutions for the NTI Neuronet market;

      - integrated generative artificial intelligence;

      - implemented recommendation algorithms;

      - reworked product concepts considering the real needs of the market.

      The result was a qualitative leap: projects became more mature, technological, and competitive.

      The final selection stage turned out to be intense and emotionally charged. The expert commission, which included leading specialists and representatives of the university's industrial partners, carefully evaluated each presentation. Among the experts:

      - Lilia Vladimirovna Vorontsova — Vice-Rector for Economics and Strategic Development of KIU;

      - Nikolai Removich Abrukov — Acting General Director for Development of the Innovative Production Technopark "Idea";

      - Adel Ilshatovich Gilaziev — Deputy General Director for IT Project Development of the SEZ "Innopolis";

      - Alexey Nikolaevich Taranov — Founder and Manager of "Invest Hub", GAU "Technopark in the field of high technologies IT-park";

      - Lilia Sharifzyanovna Khabibullina — Deputy Head of the Innovation Support Department of the Entrepreneurship Support Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan.

      The defense days took place in an atmosphere of active dialogue: participants not only presented their solutions but also answered substantive questions from experts. Project evaluation was conducted based on a number of criteria, including technological maturity and contribution to the development of technological sovereignty of Russia.

      As a result of the selection, 35 projects that scored the highest points advanced to the second stage of the acceleration program. These teams demonstrated a high level of preparation and an innovative approach. Congratulations to the winners and we wish them further success!

      For participants who did not pass the selection, opportunities also remain:

      - in case of refusal by one of the winning teams, their place may be taken by a team from among the finalists who met all requirements;

      - participants of KIU's acceleration programs traditionally take part in the Innovation Support Fund's "Student Startup" competition, which opens additional prospects for project development.
