In Kazan, a trial has begun against the organizers of the company "Townhouses and Houses" in a fraud case. Seven people are in the dock: Arthur Valiullin, Renat Gimatdinov, Venera Garifullina, Nelly Zhelovanova, Ilnur Zamaletdinov, Radik Utombaev, and Ekaterina Utombaeva. None of the defendants admitted guilt after the charges were read. Some of them stated that they would present their position on the case later. According to the investigation, the group created the companies "Townhouses and Houses" and "Bastion-Stroy," and then took money from people for the construction of private houses and townhouses. The money received from clients, according to the investigation, was embezzled. The case also involves a former bank employee who, investigators believe, helped expedite loan processing and facilitated the transfer of funds to the defendants' accounts.
With the embezzled funds, the director of "Townhouses and Houses" purchased five premium cars: Mercedes, BMW, and Audi, registering them under fictitious names. Four of the defendants are in pre-trial detention, one is under house arrest, and two are under restrictions on certain actions. The property of the accused, totaling over 50 million rubles, has been seized.
