This was stated in a comment to RT by Alexander Shneiderman, head of the customer support and sales department at Alfa-Forex. According to him, gold is unlikely to repeat January's highs in mid-spring, but it remains within a wide price range. The fluctuations in the value of the precious metal, according to the expert's assessment, are currently within approximately $4500 to $4900 per troy ounce. Shneiderman noted that against the backdrop of market correction, central banks and institutional investors continue to diversify their reserves, increasing the share of gold in their portfolios. In the medium term, he said, the metal could stabilize in the range of $4400–5400 per ounce and gradually attempt to move towards the level of around $5000.
The expert added that gold remains a sought-after instrument among private investors, including participants in the Russian market.
