In Tatarstan, prices increased by 0.79% in March 2026 compared to February, according to data from the National Bank of the Republic of Tatarstan. Annual inflation in the region accelerated to 7.08%, which is higher than the figures for the Volga Federal District (6.67%) and the overall rate for Russia (5.86%). The largest growth in March was observed in the services sector. Non-food goods also became more expensive, while food prices increased moderately. Excluding seasonal factors, the price increase in the republic was slightly above the February level. The regulator associates this with the transfer of accumulated costs from producers and suppliers to final prices. In the food segment, the most noticeable price increase was for eggs due to seasonal demand and rising production costs. Sugar and public catering also became more expensive. At the same time, olive oil continued to decrease in price for the sixth consecutive month. Among non-food goods, there was a price increase for printed publications and computers. At the same time, prices for communication devices—smartphones, smartwatches, and wireless headphones—decreased. In the services sector, prices for foreign tourism and recreation on the Black Sea coast, medical services, and postal communication increased. The regulator explains this by rising costs and seasonal demand. Overall, annual inflation in Russia in March was 5.86%, continuing the trend of gradual slowdown.
