Participants of the "Student TEFI" in Kazan were trained in the "Laboratory of Creative Industries".
How to bring creative projects to life, become successful, and find clients was learned by the best students from all over Russia studying television specialties. The "Creative Industries Laboratory" for participants of the XII All-Russian Television Competition "Student TEFI" was conducted by Konstantin Agula, Director of Interaction with Government Bodies at Avito Services. In the conference hall of KFU, there were no free seats. Young, creative, and talented people from across the country gathered here – future directors, sound engineers, producers, operators, reporters, and other representatives of creative professions. The beginning of the meeting was intriguing. "The driver of the modern economy is the creative industry. According to analytical data from the Ministry of Economic Development, this sector is growing four times faster than other industries in Russia and already accounts for about 4% of GDP," Konstantin Agula informed the attendees. In Tatarstan, the volume of this segment of the economy is estimated at 164 billion rubles. By this indicator, the republic ranks fourth in the country. "Kazan is home to creative people who do not get stuck on templates and the use of AI, but share a piece of their soul, adding a special touch," the speaker noted. According to him, competition in the creative sector is growing in the regions. However, thanks to the online platform, performers are not tied to a specific location. They can fulfill clients' tasks from anywhere in the country. It is predicted that by 2030, the share of creative industries in the economy will increase to 6%. "Since you are part of the creative sector of the economy, you can make a significant contribution to its development. But this must be done through the development of yourselves," Agula remarked, addressing the students. According to the expert, the online platform is always a starting point for young creative businesses. Here, one can create a portfolio, post ads, build a client base, and receive real feedback on their work. With the active development of AI, creative services are becoming extraordinarily in demand in the market. "With the advent of AI and neural networks, the demand for animation, 3D modeling, and visual effects creation is growing. AI can simplify routine tasks, but your individuality and creativity are in demand. Avito analysts note that this category has grown 3.5 times in a year," Agula pointed out. Various services are offered online – photo and video shooting of events, scriptwriting, and others. "Currently, a large number of companies need video production. It often happens that even large companies, in conditions of budget shortages and cost optimization, are forced to seek alternative ways to complete tasks. They turn to self-employed individuals and freelancers, that is, to you," Agula explained. The expert noted that platforms look for ads that "catch" attention. It is very important how a specific offer looks among a multitude of others. Young people listened to the speaker with great interest and asked questions. The participants analyzed specific ads from photographers, videographers, and directors, discussing their strengths and weaknesses. It is difficult to assess a creative service objectively. The attendees also inquired about how to protect clients from poor-quality work or missed deadlines. "In the creative industries, we, together with a partner, are piloting a secure transaction mechanism. The performer is guaranteed to receive payment for their work, and the client is assured that they will receive the order for their money. The platform acts as an escrow agent. In case of disagreements, we help find points of contact and resolve conflicts," Konstantin Agula reported. The XII All-Russian Television Competition "Student TEFI-2026" is currently taking place in Kazan. A total of 569 works from 39 universities in 26 cities of Russia have been submitted for participation. The largest number of works was submitted by representatives from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk, Chelyabinsk, Yekaterinburg, and Kazan.
