       In 2025, residents of Tatarstan who legalized their income from renting out housing submitted over 7 thousand tax declarations to the tax service with revenues from this type of activity.

       According to the head of the Tax Service for the Republic of Tatarstan, Marat Safiullin, a total of 168 million rubles was received in the consolidated budget of the region and municipal entities. This was reported by RBC. As noted by the head of the agency, the current tax legislation in Russia offers landlords several flexible and convenient options for legalizing their income. In particular, a citizen has the right to register as a professional income taxpayer, that is, to become self-employed, or to obtain the status of an individual entrepreneur with the choice of one of the available taxation systems – patent, simplified, or automated simplified. At the same time, Safiullin particularly emphasized that the possibility of registering as self-employed is available even for such a category of hired workers as civil servants who rent out housing and receive systematic income from this activity. The head of the Federal Tax Service also drew attention to the fact that issues of declaring income from renting residential premises are under close scrutiny by the tax authorities. He reminded the residents of the republic about the approaching deadline for submitting tax reports – it is necessary to report income received from renting apartments and houses in 2025 using form 3-NDFL no later than April 30, 2026. The calculated tax amount itself must be paid into the budget system by July 15 of the current year. Recently, it was reported that the number of millionaires and billionaires in Tatarstan has increased.
