      The leading scientific school of Kazan Innovative University in the field of standardization and total quality management, headed by the Vice-Rector for innovative and project activities of KIU, a distinguished figure in science of the Republic of Tatarstan, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Irina Ilgizovna Antonova, continues to demonstrate high achievements in scientific activity. Two of her students – candidates from Kazan Innovative University Nelya Ildusovna Mukhametkhanova and Dmitry Alexandrovich Shpilev – successfully defended their candidate dissertations. The defenses took place on April 28, 2026, at a meeting of the Dissertation Council established at Saint Petersburg State Economic University. The Dissertation Council unanimously supported both studies and decided to award the candidates the academic degree of Candidate of Economic Sciences in the specialties of "Management" and "Public and Municipal Administration." Council members, official opponents (leading professors from universities in Saint Petersburg and Moscow), and representatives of leading organizations highly appreciated the works, noting their scientific novelty, theoretical and practical significance, as well as their undeniable relevance to the current trends in the development of the state, economy, business, and society. Special attention deserves the publication activity of the candidates: they have collectively published more than 40 printed works, over 30 of which are in leading journals indexed in VAK and Web of Science. Professor Irina Ilgizovna Antonova: "For me as a scientific supervisor, the success of my students is a great professional joy and a convincing confirmation that our joint work has yielded worthy results. I congratulate Nelya Ildusovna and Dmitry Alexandrovich on the successful completion of an important stage. I wish them new large-scale research, interesting collaborations, and bold projects. I thank the esteemed opponents, leading organizations, and the dissertation council for their thorough analysis of the works and support." I would also like to especially thank the Dean of the Faculty of Management and Engineering Business, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Stanislav Alexeyevich Antonov for his assistance in preparing the calculation part of the works and further testing in the industrial sector of the economy.
