In Agryz, the "Victory Train" was ceremoniously welcomed.
For the guests and residents of the city, artists performed songs from the war years. From April 24 to May 4, 2026, a patriotic train called "Victory Train" will travel along the route of the Gorky Railway. One of the stations where a ceremonial meeting took place was the Agryz station. The event opened with a procession of participants under the march "Triumph of the Victors." After performing the song "Victory Day," the host greeted the residents and guests of the city, reminding them that 2026 has been declared by the President of Russia as the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia. "On the Gorky Railway, people of different nationalities work shoulder to shoulder, ensuring the reliable operation of the mainline. Just like in the harsh '41, the railway once again proves: our unity is our main support," noted the host. The event was attended by honored guests, including the head of the Agryz municipal district, Lenar Nurgayanov, the deputy head of the Gorky Railway, Alexander Kuznetsov, the deputy head of the railway for personnel and social issues, Sergey Shagalov, and others. In his speech, Lenar Faridovich emphasized the importance of patriotic and spiritual-moral education of the younger generation and stressed that preserving the memory of ancestors is a sacred duty of the living today. According to him, the residents of Agryz made a significant contribution to the overall Victory in the Great Patriotic War. He referred to the arriving train not just as a train, but as an embodiment of living memory. The head pointed out that the carriages hold the heartbeat of those who returned home with Victory in 1945. He called for not only remembering the deeds of ancestors but also feeling joy, pain, and pride, and then passing these feelings on to the next generations. The head of the district expressed gratitude to the railway workers for organizing the "Victory Train" and called the event itself a great miracle.
The central moment of the ceremony was the presentation of a copy of the Red Banner of Victory, which was raised over the Reichstag. The banner was carried by honored veteran of the railway transport of Russia, Anatoly Malyskin, accompanied by an honor guard. After the performance of the national anthem of the Russian Federation, a minute of silence was announced in memory of those who fell during the Great Patriotic War. For the guests and residents of the city, artists performed songs from the war years. Participants of the event laid flowers at the memorial plaque and bust of the founder of the Kazanburg Railway, Baron Nikolai Karlovich von Meck.
The "Victory Train" traveled through the stations of the Gorky Railway, including Nizhny Novgorod, Vladimir, Gus-Khrustalny, Murom, Kazan, Arsk, Kizner, Agryz, and other cities. The next stop is Izhevsk. The event aims to preserve historical memory and support patriotic traditions. The organizer was the Gorky Railway — a branch of JSC "Russian Railways."
