"There are no miracles, but we have 14 billion in tax debt." In Tatarstan, income tax revenues have significantly decreased.
In the first quarter of this year, tax revenues in the republic amounted to 335 billion rubles — this is 15% less than in the same period of 2025.
Tax debt in Tatarstan reached 14.7 billion rubles as of April 1 of this year. This was reported today at a meeting of the financial, treasury, and tax authorities of the republic, writes "Business Online". — The situation in the country is not very good, but we are holding on, the risks are high. We have not cut any programs or projects so far. There are no miracles, but we have 14 billion in tax debt. In any case, 4–5 billion can be extracted, which will be a good support, — said the head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov. According to him, in the first quarter of 2026, the consolidated budget of the republic received 147.4 billion rubles, including 135.4 billion in own revenues. At the same time, own revenues decreased by 4.7 billion rubles compared to last year; mainly due to a reduction in profit tax payments. Since the beginning of the year, it was reported at the meeting that Tatarstan collected 42 billion rubles in profit tax, while 55.9 billion was collected in the same period last year. — The picture is not very encouraging. But the main task is to preserve our enterprises, jobs, and find markets for our products, — said Minnikhanov. The head of the Federal Tax Service of Russia in Tatarstan, Marat Safiullin, clarified that in the first quarter of this year, tax revenues in the republic amounted to 335 billion rubles — this is 15% less than in the same period of 2025. The Minister of Finance of Tatarstan, Marat Faizrakhmanov, specified that "Tatneft" (including TANEKO) reduced profit tax payments by 5.9 billion rubles in the first quarter of 2026, the Alabuga Special Economic Zone — by 5.6 billion rubles; PJSC "Kazanorgsintez" — by 2.1 billion rubles. Rustam Minnikhanov instructed the sectoral ministries, together with the tax authorities, the Ministry of Economy, and the Ministry of Finance, to analyze the situation of enterprises that generate the main budget revenues and, if necessary, assist them with support measures. In addition, the head of Tatarstan demanded to strengthen control over budget execution and the use of federal funds.
The Prime Minister of the republic, Alexey Pesoshin, reported last week that the losses of enterprises compared to 2024 have increased almost fourfold, reaching 254 billion rubles. The sectors most affected were those related to food production, trade, and transportation. — The high key rate of the Central Bank limits enterprises in attracting borrowed funds, and this leads to a slowdown in production development. Tension remains in the labor market, despite the availability of vacancies, there is a shortage of personnel in almost all sectors. Overdue debt on loans and the debt burden of enterprises and organizations are increasing, — said Pesoshin. According to the Prime Minister, the situation directly impacts the budget revenues of the republic. It was previously reported that the number of liquidated companies in Tatarstan at the end of 2025 exceeded the number of newly created ones by 18%. Subscribe to our channel on Telegram.
