"Systematic work, not one-time actions": Deputy Gadzhiev on supporting the SVO and humanitarian missions

Recently, the deputy of the State Duma of Russia, Ruslan Gadzhiev, returned from another business trip in the SVO zone. He delivered humanitarian aid to our fighters. He became the hero of our section "7 questions in 7 minutes." This year, the "United Russia" party is celebrating its 25th anniversary. This is a good reason to look at what has been achieved, what goals were set, and how the work was organized. Together with the party's active members and current deputies, we will analyze what has been accomplished, what tasks and plans lie ahead, and what the party's team looks like in Tatarstan. We also invite you, dear viewers, to send your suggestions and wishes on who you would like to see in future episodes.

      — In the run-up to Victory Day, it is especially important to talk about supporting those who are defending the country today. How much has this topic become a priority in your work?

      — Supporting participants of the special military operation and their families is a systematic state effort. More than 160 federal laws have already been adopted, covering a wide range of issues: from payments and social guarantees to educational benefits.

      — In particular, widows of servicemen have been given the opportunity to receive higher education for free, and children of SVO participants receive priority when applying to universities. This gives fighters confidence and allows them to carry out their tasks without worrying about the everyday and social problems of their families.

      — You were on the front lines more than a month ago, sending humanitarian aid to our fighters. How is this organized in practice?

      — Here, systematicity is crucial. Tatarstan established a clear support system for fighters and new territories from the very first days. The first humanitarian cargoes began to arrive in March. This is not a one-time action; it is ongoing work involving the republic's leadership, municipalities, and the public. Children send letters to the fighters, and this live connection is very important.

      — There are also specific examples. In Lysychansk, after liberation, there was no bread, and Tatarstan promptly sent flour there. Our servicemen organized the baking of bread for the residents on-site. This demonstrates the morale of our fighters, our defenders.

      — Can you provide an example of targeted assistance when quick action was required?

      — Such situations do occur. One of the recent cases involved a fighter's family from Tatarstan that was in a serious car accident in Volgograd. His daughter urgently needed high-tech medical assistance that could only be provided in Moscow. Upon request, we quickly organized an evacuation, and the child was taken to the capital, where doctors provided the necessary treatment. Her life is no longer in danger. Such stories particularly stick in memory.

      — Among the priorities today, ecological safety and the development of industrial cities are often mentioned. What do you think is important for Tatarstan in the near future?

      — The main tasks have already been defined within the framework of state policy. Tatarstan traditionally ranks among the country's key regions and is often among the leaders. The benchmarks set by the republic's leadership and the President of Russia focus primarily on technological development and strengthening technological sovereignty.

      — In recent years, Tatarstan has indeed made significant progress. This applies to both digital solutions and the localization of high-tech production. A good example is Innopolis, one of the few cities built almost from scratch after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Today, it is a full-fledged center attracting specialists and technologies, where developments are created, including in the field of unmanned systems used in agriculture, cadastral work, and other civilian areas.

      — It is important that technological development here is directly related to the quality of life of people. Great attention is also paid to rural areas, where modern solutions are being implemented. Today, agriculture is becoming a high-tech industry. Essentially, Tatarstan is demonstrating a model where technology, economy, and social development go hand in hand. And this groundwork that has already been laid is important to develop further in a consistent manner.

      — In the everyday work of a deputy, much is said about large decisions. But what do people most often come to you about?

      — Life consists of small things. Most inquiries are very practical: housing repairs, utility issues, everyday problems. Sometimes help is needed with a roof, sometimes with heating or electricity. But behind each such request is a specific human situation.

      — In Tatarstan, the work is structured in such a way that the executive power always responds to our requests. If help is needed somewhere, we certainly get involved. This is the work of a deputy — to improve people's lives and develop the republic.

      — There was a case in the village of Karamaly — a fire left a family without a home. In such situations, it is important that people are not left alone: residents, the administration, and we all get involved. In Tatarstan and in Russia as a whole, people always unite around a common misfortune, helping to solve even the most difficult situations together.

      — Recently, we have been talking about the revival of spiritual values. What values are most important to you?

      — For me, the key value is family. It is within the family that everything else is formed: respect for parents, for elders, attitudes towards people and life. For Tatarstan, this is also a natural foundation on which much relies. Preserving family values provides internal support and strength for further development.

      — What places in Tatarstan are especially dear to you?

      — First of all, it is, of course, the Kazan Kremlin — a unique place where both a temple and a mosque are located side by side. It symbolizes how different cultures and religions have historically coexisted in Kazan. The Syuyumbike Tower and the Kul Sharif Mosque are also important to me.

      — There are also historical centers — Bolgar, Sviyazhsk, which carry immense cultural and spiritual significance. And, of course, new points of attraction that have already become part of modern Kazan. For example, the Kamal Theater, which has organically integrated into the architectural appearance of the city and reflects the Tatar cultural code.

      — In general, Tatarstan is an example of how different traditions and confessions live in harmony. This includes Islam, Orthodoxy, and respect for each other's faith. Such unity of peoples and religions is an important foundation for social harmony, and this is an example that, in my opinion, is important not only for the republic but for the country as a whole.
