When to wash the floors and when not to: folk cleaning secrets by days and the Moon
Our grandmothers knew: cleaning is not just about cleanliness, but also about protecting the home. A special ritual with wormwood and salt helps to permanently drive away poverty, debts, and stagnation from the home. It turns out that it's not enough to just dust and wash the floors. It's important which day and even what time you do it. Folk traditions have preserved clear instructions:
Tuesday: Clean only after noon. In the morning — under no circumstances: you will wash away abundance.
Saturday: The best day for a thorough cleaning. Water "washes away" accumulated fatigue and hidden evil eye.
Sunday: Washing floors is prohibited! Along with the dirt, you will carry happiness out of the house.
Full Moon: Cleaning is completely canceled. During this period, water gains a special, "living" power, and it should not be disturbed.
An important ritual after any cleaning: sprinkle salt on the threshold. This is an ancient talisman to ensure that "evil does not enter" the house.
Financial cleansing: wormwood + salt
The most powerful ritual for getting rid of poverty, debts, and stagnation is performed with a decoction of wormwood and salt. It is suitable for any day except Sunday and full moon.
What you will need:
- dried wormwood — 2–3 tablespoons;
- boiling water — 1 liter;
- salt — 2 tablespoons;
- bucket for mopping the floor.
Step-by-step ritual
Step 1. Prepare the decoction
Pour boiling water over the wormwood and let it steep for 30–60 minutes. Strain, add a couple of tablespoons of salt. The salt will enhance the cleansing properties.
Step 2. Wipe mirrors and surfaces
Take a cloth soaked in the prepared decoction and thoroughly wipe all mirrors in the house, as well as smooth surfaces (countertops, windowsills). This removes energetic "dust" and opens up space for clarity and abundance.
Step 3. Wash the floors by hand
Add the remaining decoction to the water for mopping the floor. Mop by hand — not with a mop, but with a cloth. The water with wormwood and salt absorbs stagnation, poverty, debts, and anxiety. Your task is to gather all the negativity into one flow.
Step 4. Take the dirty water out of the house
The most important step. Leave the bucket with dirty water in the last room. Then take it and immediately carry it outside (do not place it in the hallway). Pour the water outside the house — preferably under a dry tree or on the ground where people rarely walk.
Step 5. Recite the incantation
At the moment when the water is poured out, say clearly and confidently:
"Take away, water, poverty, debts, and stagnation forever — never return! Let the place be freed for opportunities, ease, and abundance!"
After this, the negative energy leaves completely and irreversibly.
Continuation: what to do after cleaning
The ritual is over, but the effect is reinforced in the first three days.
Do not borrow money for three days after cleaning — otherwise, you will return what you "carried out" back.
Ventilate the house every evening for 10–15 minutes — fresh air blows away the remnants of stagnation.
Place a small mirror opposite the front door (on the inside) — it will reflect the negativity that tries to enter.
Repeat the cleaning with wormwood and salt once a month, especially if you feel financial tension or a series of minor failures.
What not to do after cleaning:
- Leave the bucket with dirty water in the hallway — negativity will remain at the threshold.
- Pour the water into the sink or toilet inside the house — you are not carrying away poverty, but "washing" it into the dwelling.
- Tell outsiders about the ritual until a week has passed.
Bonus: why salt on the threshold
After washing, be sure to sprinkle a thin strip of salt on the threshold outside (if it's a private house) or place a pinch on the mat in front of the door in an apartment. Salt is a natural absorbent not only of moisture but also of bad energy. It will not allow anyone with bad intentions to enter the house and will prevent your well-being from "leaking away."
