A resident of Kazan sold her apartment and car and transferred 11 million rubles to scammers.
A 59-year-old resident of Kazan became a victim of telephone scammers, losing 11 million rubles. To secure her savings, she sold her apartment and car, and transferred all the proceeds to the criminals. According to the police, it all started with a message in a messenger: the woman was invited to join a home chat on behalf of the management company. After clicking on the link, she received a notification about a hack of her account on the "Gosuslugi" portal. Then, fake employees of "Rosfinmonitoring" and law enforcement agencies got involved. They convinced the victim that loans were being attempted in her name and advised her to urgently withdraw cash, sell her property, and transfer the money to "safe" accounts. The woman followed all the instructions and lost a large sum. A criminal case has been initiated. The police remind: real employees of banks and government agencies never ask to transfer money or take out loans. In case of suspicious calls, one should immediately end the conversation.
