      The warning about deteriorating weather conditions in Tatarstan was issued today by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Republic of Tatarstan. "In the evening of May 6, at night and during the day on May 7, strong winds of up to 15 meters per second are expected in some areas of the republic, with possible thunderstorms, particularly in Kazan on the evening of May 6," the statement said. The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for Tatarstan recommends that people:

      - stay away from billboards, signs, and power lines;

      - not park vehicles near them;

      - not seek shelter from strong winds near building walls, as roofing materials may fall from roofs;

      Alexander Shuvalov, head of the Meteo forecasting center, informed Tatar-inform that the abnormal heat in Tatarstan will last until May 8 inclusive. "There will be truly July-like weather with temperatures of 25-28 degrees. This temperature will be typical for Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, and Almetyevsk," he said. "At night, temperatures may drop close to zero or slightly below. Frosts are possible," Gogol warned.

      The head of the Hydrometeorological Center of Tatarstan noted that with a sharp weather contrast, whirlwinds may occur, but such phenomena cannot be predicted. "The probability of whirlwinds forming when a cold front passes over warm air masses exists. They are observed during transitional periods. This is an extremely rare phenomenon and cannot be predicted in our latitudes," said Felix Gogol. Historically, in some years, snow has fallen in Tatarstan in May and even in June. Of course, it always melted quickly.

From May 9 to 11, the average daily air temperature will be 1-2 degrees below the climatic norm. "There will be a sharp contrast: four days of heat, people walking in shorts and T-shirts, and then during the day, the temperature will drop from 28 to 15 degrees. It will feel very cold, although in reality, the weather will be close to the climatic norm or slightly below," concluded Felix Gogol. The change in weather conditions will be accompanied by fluctuations in atmospheric pressure.
