In Tatarstan, the "Active Longevity" program is gaining momentum. There are nearly two thousand types of activities available in all 45 districts. A special section on the "Zabota" website with an interactive map helps find activities that suit one's interests — over 30 thousand people have already registered there.
Retirement is not a reason to sit at home in front of the TV. This has long been understood in Tatarstan. The "Active Longevity" program operates throughout the republic. It was created as part of the federal project "Older Generation," which is included in the national project "Family." The goal is simple and clear: to help elderly people remain vigorous, healthy, and needed. Not just to survive, but to live a full life. What exactly is offered? Sports, cultural events, educational courses, and volunteering. Everyone can choose what they like. Some have loved physical education since childhood — there are health groups and Nordic walking. Some have dreamed of painting or singing all their lives — there are clubs and choirs. Others want to learn something new — computers, foreign languages, crafts. Or help others — veterans, children, animals.
To make it easier for pensioners to navigate, a special section "Altyn Ellar – Golden Years" was created on the "Zabota" portal. It features an interactive map showing all organizations in each district of the republic where activities for the elderly are held. You can view the schedule, choose what you like, and sign up immediately. More than thirty thousand people have already appreciated the convenience of this system.
A total of 1840 types of activities are available in Tatarstan. They cover all 45 municipalities. This means that wherever you live — in a big city or a small village — there will definitely be something for you nearby. The program works everywhere.
The numbers are impressive. As of today, 493.9 thousand people are involved in "Active Longevity." Almost half a million! Of these, 349.6 thousand are engaged in sports and physical education. This is the most popular direction. Another 123.1 thousand people attend cultural and leisure events — concerts, exhibitions, holidays. More than 13 thousand participate in educational projects, acquiring new knowledge and skills. And 7.8 thousand have chosen volunteering — helping those who are currently having a harder time than they are.
Representatives of the Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Social Protection of Tatarstan are confident: such numbers are not the limit. Every year, the number of active pensioners is increasing. The "Active Longevity" program proves that age is not a sentence, but just a number in a passport. The main thing is the desire to live, create, move, and be needed. And the state is ready to support this desire. Not just with money, but with real actions. Sports halls, clubs, interest groups, volunteer teams — all this works for those who have worked for the benefit of the republic for decades. Now it is their turn to rest with purpose.
