Tatarstan is participating in a pilot project for the implementation of blockchain traceability for halal supply chains. This was announced at the "Kazan Forum" by Dmitry Yashin, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan. According to him, the technology has already been tested at two poultry complexes in the republic in collaboration with the International Center for Standardization and Certification. The results showed that blockchain allows consumers to see the entire journey of the product via a QR code – from feed and broiler to logistics and processing. "This is science against counterfeiting, and we are ready to scale this practice," emphasized Yashin.
