      In Tatarstan, a housing support program for young families is being prepared. The concept will be based on the principles of Islamic mortgage and interest-free lending. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan, Azat Kadyrov, at the international economic forum "Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum." As Kadyrov explained, there is currently a law in Tatarstan on state support for young families in improving their housing conditions. He noted that interest-free lending was already included in it at that time. "We want to give new life to this program. We are currently preparing proposals and forming a concept in a new format to report to the leadership of the republic," TASS quotes Kadyrov. According to the minister, since 2006, more than 8,000 families have received state support for improving their housing conditions. At the same time, assistance is still needed by another 3,000 families.

      It should be noted that there is a federal program "Young Family" in Tatarstan, which provides a certificate for part of the housing cost (30-35%). In addition, one can obtain a regional social mortgage, where apartments are sold at a lower price and with a low interest rate. There is also a law in Tatarstan "On State Support for Young Families," which provides for interest-free installment payments for part of the housing cost (up to 60%).

      In early May, the authorities of Tatarstan restricted access to housing subsidies for young families. Now, only those couples who have lived in the region for at least five years at the time of application can apply for state support. This measure is aimed at reducing the burden on the regional treasury and shortening the queue for receiving payments.
