      The head of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Tatarstan, Refat Katipov, has resigned, sources from "BUSINESS Online" report. Katipov has been discharged to the reserve due to health reasons. According to sources, the resignation is indeed related to Katipov's health condition. Sources say that his health has deteriorated in recent months, and before the New Year, an ambulance was even called to his workplace. He has repeatedly requested to resign. Katipov joined the Ministry of Internal Affairs system back in 1994, during the height of banditry. He started as an operative officer in the criminal investigation department of the Lenin district police department in Kazan. In 1998, he was transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Tatarstan as a senior operative officer in the department for solving robberies and armed attacks. From August 2013 to April 2023, he headed this department. On April 3, 2023, Katipov was appointed as the head of the entire Tatarstan Criminal Investigation Department.
