Art residence "REACTOR" recruitment for season 6: laboratories in Kazan and regions of Tatarstan

      Do you want to turn a creative idea into a real project — from an exhibition to an animated film? The art residency "REACTOR" has opened applications for the sixth season of educational laboratories. "REACTOR exists to turn ideas into projects, and projects into part of the cities of the republic," says the head of the art residency, Kadriya Bugrova. Young people aged 18 to 35 are invited to participate (in some streams, schoolchildren and teenagers). The main condition: the desire to turn your idea into a real product: an exhibition, a film, a city event, or a souvenir. Participation is completely free. The season will last from June to September.

      Four laboratories in the sixth season:

      1. Contemporary Art (Kazan, offline + online)

      Curator — art group "Frozen Horsemeat." Season theme: "Factory Myths and Elusive Legends." Participants will create art objects inspired by the history of the former sewing factory "Adonis." The result will be a group exhibition in the reconstructed building of the factory.

      2. Territory Production (Bugulma, Pestrec, Kazan)

      In collaboration with the Institute for Urban Development of Tatarstan. They will teach how to produce urban events, work with the environment and communities. Residents will present their projects to representatives of the authorities and investors.

      3. Decorative and Applied Arts of Tatars (Arsk, Almetyevsk)

      In Arsk for schoolchildren — module "Tatar Patterned Leather 2.0" (Kazan stitch technique). In Almetyevsk for adults — module "Local Reinterpretation." The result: souvenir products made of ceramics and exhibitions.

      4. Animation (Kazan, online + in-person intensive)

      Under the guidance of Gulnara Nizamieva. Participants will create animated films based on Tatar fairy tales and myths using 2D and stop-motion techniques.

      How to apply

      Applications are accepted from April 30 to May 31, 2026, on the website reactor-art.com. You need to choose a laboratory, fill out a questionnaire, and complete a creative task. The selection results will be published by June 7 in the "REACTOR" community on VKontakte.

The project is part of the "Region for Youth" program of the national project "Youth and Children" with the support of Rosmolodezh and the Ministry of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan.
