The Russian company Flymar, specializing in the creation of autonomous high-speed electric transport for the aquatic environment, has developed and tested the first electric engine for high-speed unmanned vessels in the country. According to the company, the new power unit, along with a digital control system, is capable of bringing small vessels to speeds of up to 55 km/h. At the same time, the solution is applicable for both passenger and cargo ships. This is reported by TASS. The system includes the electric motor itself and a digital controller that allows for autonomous vessel operation. The entire development is fully designed and manufactured in Russia. The company plans to use the units on its own vessels, as well as supply them to the open market.
