Kazan State Medical University expands international cooperation

      On May 15, at the XVII International Economic Forum "Russia - Islamic World: KAZANFORUM-2026," Kazan State Medical University signed an agreement with the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Cardiology of the Republic of Uzbekistan on a joint educational program for residency in the specialty "Cardiology." The agreement was signed by Acting First Vice-Rector of Kazan State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation Laysan Mukharamova and Director of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Cardiology of the Republic of Uzbekistan Khurshid Fozilov. Acting First Vice-Rector Laysan Mukharamova of Kazan State Medical University noted: - The dual diploma program in the residency specialty "Cardiology" is a joint educational project that allows graduates of medical universities, particularly from Uzbekistan, to obtain a qualification recognized both in their country and in Russia. This program meets modern requirements for medical education, takes into account the national and cultural characteristics of different countries, and expands the professional opportunities for residents. The Cardiology Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which has about 10 branches in various regions of the country, provides specialized cardiological assistance to the population and plays a key role in the healthcare system of the republic. Within the framework of strategic partnership between Russia and Uzbekistan, the center shows a high interest in training highly qualified cardiologists to meet the needs of the national healthcare system. Director of the Cardiology Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan Khurshid Fozilov emphasized: - The Kazan medical school and, in particular, the Department of Propedeutics of Internal Diseases of Kazan State Medical University have long-standing traditions and recognized authority in the field of cardiology. The Kazan cardiology school has been known in Uzbekistan for many decades, and the long-standing partnership between the university and the medical center of the two countries has become a solid foundation for signing the agreement on joint training of specialists.
