      Dear friends! Colleagues! I congratulate you on World Telecommunication and Information Society Day! How many of you have sent a real paper letter in the past year? Not an official request in an envelope, but a personal, handwritten message to loved ones? I think there are very few of us today.

      We have long since irrevocably transitioned to "digital." Research shows that, on average, a resident of our country spends more than 8 hours online each day – essentially, a third of their life. In Tatarstan, this "habit" is supported by the work of thousands of base stations and tens of thousands of kilometers of fiber optic cables that permeate the republic. The path that has led us to such speeds today has been made possible by the combined efforts of specialists from around the world. It was on May 17, exactly 161 years ago, that the first International Telegraph Convention was signed. Since then, the telegraph has been replaced by radio and telephony, and then by the global network.

      However, today our industry is undergoing a serious test of strength. We are working in conditions where security is the main priority, and communication is a tool for protection. Today, the work of telecommunications and IT specialists is a round-the-clock effort to maintain the stability of all systems in the republic. In the current conditions, infrastructure is sometimes switched to special modes to cut off threats and protect people's lives. I am grateful to each of our specialists for calmly and professionally doing this difficult work, and to the residents of the republic for understanding that behind every temporary restriction lies our common safety.

      I wish us all that communication is always reliable, and systems are secure. May work bring drive and visible results, and may warmth and comfort always await at home. I wish you steel endurance, health, and as many reasons for good news as possible! Happy holiday!
