The Federal Tax Service warned about the risks of fictitious management of companies.

      The Federal Tax Service for the Republic of Tatarstan has warned citizens about the risks of being involved in schemes of fictitious management of companies and reminded them of the possible legal consequences. The agency noted that fraudsters often offer citizens to formally register a legal entity in their name, promising a reward for "paper directorship," while not disclosing the real consequences of such participation. A nominal director is understood to be a person who is officially listed as the head of the organization but does not actually participate in managing its activities. At the same time, as emphasized by the Federal Tax Service, there are no legal differences between a nominal and an actual director. "From a legal standpoint, there are no differences between a nominal and a real director. The formal director bears full responsibility for all violations committed by the organization," the explanation states. The agency clarified that consent to register a company in one's name may lead to administrative, tax, criminal, and subsidiary liability. According to tax authorities, in 2025 alone, more than 87 materials regarding nominal management were sent to law enforcement agencies. As a result of their review, 29 criminal cases were initiated, and 19 convictions were handed down by the courts. The Federal Tax Service separately emphasized the importance of preventing such situations, especially concerning children and adolescents. Citizens are advised to explain to minors the risks of "easy earnings" and to be cautious regarding such offers. The agency also recommends using verification services: the taxpayer's personal account, the "Transparent Business" system, and the self-employed status verification service. To protect personal data from illegal registration of a legal entity, one can submit an objection to the tax authority in the established form.
