       The financial situation of enterprises in the Republic of Tatarstan for the first two months of 2026 has shown a worrying trend associated with a sharp increase in the share of unprofitable economic entities.

       According to data from Tatarstanstat, in January-February of this year, the share of organizations that ended the reporting period with a net loss reached 30.5% of the total number of registered companies. At the same time, compared to the same period in 2025, this indicator soared by 4.3%, indicating growing problems in the real sector and a deterioration in the market conditions for a number of industries. The total amount of losses incurred by these unprofitable companies amounted to a colossal sum of 51.1 billion rubles. Despite the significant expansion of the circle of outsiders, the overall financial result for the economy of the republic, calculated as the difference between total profit and total loss, remained in positive territory in January-February 2026, amounting to 129.7 billion rubles. This indicator was kept afloat by the remaining majority of profitable companies, whose share still stands at 69.5%, and which managed to generate a total profit of 180.9 billion rubles. Thus, the statistics depict a picture of deepening stratification: while successful enterprises are increasing profits, an increasing number of companies are sliding into the zone of losses. As previously reported, according to analysts' estimates, the Republic of Tatarstan demonstrates one of the highest rates of income growth for the population in the country and will soon enter the top three leaders among Russian regions in terms of median salary, which has surpassed the psychologically important mark of 200,000 rubles.
