Police officers have uncovered the fact of illegal fishing of biological resources in the Bavlinsky district of the republic. During the operational-search activities, employees of the economic security and anti-corruption units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan identified a man who, in an area located on the bank of the Ik River, illegally caught aquatic biological resources using prohibited fishing tools – a net and a spear, without having the appropriate permit or license. The total volume of seized products amounted to 91 fish. A criminal case has been initiated by the investigative authorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Bavlinsky district under paragraph "b, v" part 1 of article 256 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Illegal extraction (catch) of aquatic biological resources). The maximum penalty provided by the sanctions of this article is imprisonment for up to two years.
