Kazan has not hosted a Grand Prix stage in figure skating for the first time in 13 years.
The Russian Figure Skating Federation has published the schedule for the 2026/27 season tournaments. For the first time since 2013, the Kazan stage is not included. Previously, the capital of Tatarstan hosted competitions annually (first the "Cup of Russia," then a Grand Prix stage), featuring stars such as Kamila Valieva, Alexandra Trusova, Anna Shcherbakova, and Alina Zagitova. The last tournament took place at the Sports Palace in November 2025, with local skater Dina Khusnutdinova emerging as the winner.
In the upcoming season, the Grand Prix stages will be held in Nizhny Novgorod (October 16–19), St. Petersburg (October 22–26), Krasnoyarsk (October 30 – November 2), Yekaterinburg (November 6–9), and Omsk (November 13–16). The series final will take place in Saransk (February 25–28).
