Grand Prix and prize places: KIU sets standards in labor law at the international level.
The International Competition of Scientific Works for Students and Master's Students in Labor Law named after Lev Semenovich Tal has been held for the 13th consecutive year with the participation of 11 leading universities representing Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and the Russian Federation. Starting in 2024, this competition is organized and conducted at the Faculty of Law of Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov. In 2026, the competition received 49 scientific works (essays) from students and master's students representing 15 leading universities in Russia and one university in Kazakhstan. The expert jury of the competition traditionally consists of legal scholars (doctors and candidates of sciences) teaching at the co-organizing universities and specializing in this field of knowledge. Essays from students and master's students are sent to experts only from those universities where they do not work. The evaluation of essays is conducted "blindly," with all participants' works encrypted and anonymized. According to the updated 2025 Regulations of the Competition named after L.S. Tal, 10 prize places were determined for the authors of those scientific works (essays) that scored the highest points based on the expert assessment. The Grand Prix (title of laureate) in 2026 was awarded to Gizetdinova Laysan Ramilevna, a 3rd-year student of the Faculty of Law of Kazan Innovative University named after V.G. Timiryasov, for her essay on the topic: "Problems of Applying Algorithmic Control and Monitoring Systems for Employees by Employers: Experience of the European Union and the Russian Federation."
