KIU experts at the All-Russian conference in Yaroslavl

      On May 20, 2026, experts from KIU participated in the All-Russian scientific and practical conference "Additional Professional Education for Technological Leadership: Technology Transfer, Human Resource Sovereignty, and the Digital Learning Ecosystem," which took place in Yaroslavl. The event brought together leading specialists in the field of additional professional education and technological leadership from Kazan, Moscow, Tomsk, Tambov, Yaroslavl, Rybinsk, and other cities. This event is particularly important today, as Russia undergoes a phase of mobilization development in the scientific and technological sphere under the pressure of sanctions. During the conference, a productive dialogue took place regarding the scientific and technological development of the country and the modernization of the higher education and additional professional education system.

      The plenary session featured the participation of the Vice-Rector for Innovative and Project Activities of KIU, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, and Honored Scientist of the Republic of Tatarstan, Irina Ilgizovna Antonova, who presented a report titled "Effective Management Models in Achieving Technological Leadership: Challenges and Solutions." The presented material included econometric models from KIU, demonstrating that a 1% increase in the number of additional professional education listeners reduces the import of finished products by 0.58%. The approach is based on the chain "Science — Production — Education," the regional quality system (RS VUK model), and the transition to the development of "growth zones," exemplified by Tatarstan. Without interaction between universities, the state, and the business community, the speaker emphasized, technological leadership will remain merely a goal yet to be achieved.

      The event united representatives from universities, corporate universities, and research centers to discuss pressing issues related to achieving technological leadership through the additional professional education system. An important component of the conference's business program was the participation of Alsu Talgatovna Khadieva, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the "Digital Economy and Quality Management" department, and Head of the Technology Transfer Center at KIU. During the expert session "Development of Additional Professional Education to Address Technological Leadership Tasks," she presented approaches to establishing effective interaction between the university and the real sector of the economy. The event also featured Nelya Ildusovna Mukhametkhanova, Director of the Institute of Business and Information Technology at KIU, Candidate of Economic Sciences. Session participants discussed the following issues:

      ● Transformation of the "Priority-2030" programs and advanced engineering schools (AES) for technological leadership tasks;

      ● Models of interaction between universities, corporate universities, and businesses;

      ● Best practices from Technological Additional Professional Education Schools — analysis of examples from 2025 and presentation of projects for 2026;

      ● Key barriers and effective mechanisms for transferring scientific developments through the additional professional education system into high-tech sectors of the economy.

      The goals of the session included analyzing the conditions and practices of interaction models between universities, corporate universities, and scientific and production companies to achieve national goals in technological leadership, as well as assessing the effectiveness of mechanisms for transferring scientific developments through additional professional education. The participation of KIU representatives in the All-Russian scientific and practical conference once again confirmed that the university operates in line with current tasks related to the integration of education, science, and the real sector of the economy, including issues of human resource and technological sovereignty.
