Zainsk was the first in Tatarstan to complete the "Our Yard" program 2026.

      The head of the executive committee of the Zainsk district, Emil Galeev, summarized the interim results of the improvement and explained why 2026 has become special for the residents of Mirny and Stary Zainsk.

      While in most cities of Tatarstan, builders are just picking up the pace of work under the "Our Yard" program, Zainsk has already completed construction and installation work in all nine yards. In an exclusive interview with our newspaper, Emil Galeev, the head of the Executive Committee of the Zainsk municipal district, shared how they managed to be the first in the republic and what has changed in the lives of the townspeople.

      Residents are already using the yard areas. Traditionally, the "Our Yard" program, initiated by the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, starts in spring and ends by autumn. However, Zainsk has set a new benchmark this year.

      — This year we planned to bring nine yards into compliance. To date, the construction and installation work has been fully completed, and we finished the work first in the republic, — said Emil Galeev. — The process of handing over and accepting the completed work is currently underway, but residents are already fully utilizing the updated areas.

      The head of the district executive committee emphasized that the "Our Yard" program is not exhausted: thanks to feedback from homeowners' associations and management companies, a list of nine more yards has been formed, which they plan to include in the schedule for the next year, 2027.

      The list of addresses for 2026 includes yards covering different areas of the city. Special attention was paid to the Mirny microdistrict and Stary Zainsk.

      What has been done?

      The "Our Yard" program includes several mandatory points, but Zainsk contractors have gone further.

      1. Road surface using new technologies.

      This year, the company "Volga-Autodor" was involved in the work for the first time (along with the Zainsk UAD "Tatneftedor"). The contractor has established a positive reputation.

      — New curbs have been installed, and driveways have been asphalted. The quality is 100%, without complaints, — noted Emil Galeev.

      2. Not just asphalt, but also black soil.

      A distinctive feature of Zainsk was a comprehensive approach to landscaping.

      — We brought in black soil, sowed lawn grass, and planted trees together with residents. This is not included in the minimum requirements of the program, as per the instruction of the head of the municipality R.G. Karimov: "To do not just roads, but full-fledged improvement," — emphasized Galeev.

      3. Safety and aesthetics (initiative beyond the norm).

      R.G. Karimov instructed to apply road markings within the yards. And although this is not included in the republican program, the contracting organization will fulfill this condition as well.

      — The asphalt needs to "settle" a bit for the markings to be bright. Next week, we will organize parking zones and all necessary lines for the convenience of residents, — reported the head of the executive committee.

      190 yards and 800 million rubles.

      Work on the "Our Yard" program has been ongoing in the Zainsk district since 2020. During this time, impressive results have been achieved.

      — From 2020 to 2026, we have improved 190 yard territories. Of these, 16 are in rural settlements where there are apartment buildings, and 174 are directly in the city, — said Emil Galeev.

      The volume of republican funding over these years amounted to about 800 million rubles. Only road surface (in square meters) laid is 182,444 sq. m.

      Infrastructure: where children play.

      Particular emphasis was placed on small architectural forms (MAFs). The supplier of benches and bins was the local company LLC "PEM" (Eduard Karavashkin), which operates throughout the republic. The installation of children's playgrounds was carried out by the company LLC "KSIL" — a contractor that makes about 80% of yard playgrounds in Tatarstan.

      In the yard on Kazan Street, 3,4, a large play complex for children was installed.

      A resident's perspective: "My yard has also transformed."

      Emil Galeev admitted that he speaks about the improvement not only as a leader but also as an ordinary townsman.

      — I am a resident of this city myself. My yard on Victory Avenue, 1/06 has also transformed under this program. Huge thanks to the President of Tatarstan, — he said. — But I want to address the neighbors: the yard areas, play complexes, benches, and lawns are your common property. Take care of what has been done for you and your children.

      Plans for the future.

      Despite the early completion of work this year, the program does not stop. Emil Galeev met with representatives of homeowners' associations and the management company. As a result, about nine more yards that meet the program's criteria have been identified. An inventory is currently being conducted to submit an application to the Republic's City Development Fund to include them in the plan for 2027.

      — Essentially, we have completed the program in the municipality. But we will continue to work so that no yard remains unaddressed by the program, — summarized Emil Galeev.

      For reference: The "Our Yard" program has been implemented in Tatarstan since 2020. During this time, more than 4,000 yard territories have been improved in the republic. Zainsk traditionally leads in the pace and quality of work.
