The State Duma has passed a law imposing fines on migrants of up to 50,000 rubles.

      The State Duma deputies adopted a bill that increases fines for migrants for evading medical examination by more than 12 times. This was reported by TASS. The fines are set from 25,000 to 50,000 rubles. At the same time, the possibility of deporting a foreigner from Russia remains at the court's discretion. Currently, a similar violation carries a fine of 2,000 to 4,000 rubles. Failure to pay the fine on time will result in a penalty of double the original amount. Deportation from the country will also become mandatory. The bill also introduces administrative liability for violating the procedure for conducting medical examinations of foreigners. For individuals, the fine will range from 25,000 to 100,000 rubles, for officials — from 100,000 to 200,000 rubles, and for legal entities — from 300,000 to 1 million rubles. In case of violations concerning several foreigners, liability will arise for each case. The law will come into force on the day of publication if signed by the president.
