Young Defenders: A five-day camp for eighth graders took place in the Nurlat district.
In the schools of the Nurlat district, educational field exercises for eighth-grade students have concluded. From May 18 to 22, more [an approximate number can be inserted if known, or removed] students learned the basics of military affairs, first aid, and teamwork. The event was seamlessly integrated into the curriculum of the subject "Fundamentals of Safety and Defense of the Motherland," and also touched upon extracurricular hours, becoming not just a checkpoint, but a real life lesson. The organizers tried to make the program as rich and practical as possible. The three days flew by for the kids as one: drill training alternated with tactical exercises, and safety theory with practical situations where hesitation can be costly. A particular interest among the teenagers was sparked by the first aid block: students learned how to properly apply tourniquets, treat wounds, and act in critical situations before specialists arrive. Field trips to the fire stations in the district became a separate bright page of the exercises. Emergency Ministry employees showed the eighth-graders the structure of special equipment, allowed them to try on combat clothing, and vividly demonstrated how quickly and cohesively professionals fight fires. These meetings helped the kids not only broaden their horizons but also develop respect for the challenging service. Physical training and team cohesion were also in the spotlight. Sports relays and team-building games taught the main lesson: in action, not only personal strength matters, but also the ability to listen to a comrade. In the evenings, mentors summarized the day, emphasizing discipline and responsibility—qualities that the organizers called "the foundation of adult life." The exercises concluded with a general formation and reflection. Educators noted a significant increase in organization among most participants, and the students themselves admitted, "It was difficult, but interesting." The district administration emphasized that such exercises will become an annual practice, as they not only strengthen the health and character of teenagers but also plant the seeds of genuine patriotism—not ceremonial, but based on real knowledge and mutual assistance.
