      In Tatarstan, a student suspected of involvement in the theft of jewelry from a family in Bugulma has been detained. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan. It turned out that the young man, having fallen into the trap of scammers, became their accomplice. According to law enforcement data, a 19-year-old student from one of Kazan's universities, originally from the Kemerovo region, was under the psychological influence of remote scammers. As stated in the testimony of the detainee, he was first called by a stranger who introduced himself as an employee of a medical institution. Later, the young man began receiving messages that his account on the "Gosuslugi" portal had allegedly been hacked. Then, fake employees from various agencies – from the FSB to the Ministry of Digital Development – contacted him. The criminals convinced the student that bank accounts had been opened in his name through which illegal activities were allegedly being financed. The young man, under the pretext of "assisting the investigation," began to follow the scammers' instructions – traveling to other cities to collect money and valuables from citizens who had also been deceived by the scammers. In one case, the victim of the criminal scheme was a family from Bugulma. The student received gold items belonging to them, which he later pawned. The money he earned was transferred to his curators. The total amount of damage exceeded 1.6 million rubles. Later, other similar episodes of the detainee's criminal activity also surfaced.

      A criminal case has been initiated for fraud, and law enforcement is searching for other participants in the criminal scheme.
