      Kazan has begun the floral decoration of its streets. A total of 1.3 million flower seedlings will be planted in flower beds. About 2,500 pots will be installed along pedestrian zones and squares. The installation of floral figures has started. In total, the floral decoration will cover 68 streets in the city. The mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin, recently visited the greenhouses of the municipal enterprise "Gorvodzelenhoz."       "Flowers have become the calling card of the capital – a bright and recognizable feature of our city that creates a mood for both the residents of Kazan and the guests of the capital. This year, we have increased the area of planted flowers fourfold – thanks to the modern greenhouse we are currently in. And 22,000 flower pots will be placed on 68 streets. All of this is the result of the caring hands of the workers of the municipal trust 'Gorvodzelenhoz,' who have been taking care of the city for many years. They do this with love for Kazan, with love for our citizens, and with respect for the guests of the capital. And this is our systematic work. We want Kazan to be not only clean, comfortable, and safe but also necessarily blooming," said the mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin. Thanks to the commissioning of a modern greenhouse complex of "Gorvodzelenhoz" on Daur Street in the capital of Tatarstan in the fall of 2025, the greenhouse's capacity has increased to 2.5 million flowers per year. Thus, 1.3 million flowers have already begun to be planted on the streets of the city. Another 200,000 seedlings have been put up for sale – for both residents and enterprises wishing to decorate their territories. The planting of flower seedlings in flower beds in Kazan will be completed by around June 15 (depending on the weather). Flower beds will adorn all districts of the city, gardens, parks, and squares. To date, 500,000 flowers have been planted in city flower beds. New flower beds will appear for the first time in iconic places: on Karl Marx, Kremlin, Nikolai Yershov, Pushkin-Butlerov streets, near the new G. Kamal Theater, near the Tatar State Theater of Drama and Comedy named after Karim Tinchurin, at the Guards Arrow, in the 1000th Anniversary Park, in the Istanbul Square, and at the Family Center "Kazan."

      The municipal enterprise "Gorvodzelenhoz" reported that various parameters were considered when selecting the assortment: climatic conditions, the adaptability of plants to the urban environment, the duration of flowering, resistance, brightness, and decorativeness. The flower beds will feature petunias, tagetes, cineraria, lobelia, carnations, tobacco, dahlias, sedum, salvia, anthurium, and pentas. The flower beds will also be adorned with lobularia, irisine, celosia, zinnia, viola, coleus, canna, begonia, alyssum, and gazania. Rare specimens such as anthurium and pentas will also please the eye.

      Over the course of a month, specialists from Gorvodzelenhoz have arranged new flower beds near the monuments to Rustem Yakhin, Gavriil Derzhavin, Alexander Pushkin, in the garden of Gabdulla Tukay, in the Glory Square, on Ippodromnaya, Dzerzhinsky, Lipatov, Mira Shigabutdin Mardzhani, Kremlin, and Lobachevsky streets, in the squares of May 1, Freedom, and the 1000th Anniversary. On Universiade Avenue, floral compositions "Emblem" and "Ball" were created, "Swans" appeared near the Philharmonic, and "Leopard" on Tatarstan Street.

      Along the main highways, pedestrian zones, and squares, 2,460 pots with ampelous petunias will be installed. Kazan will also be decorated with floral art objects, including "Leopard," "Swans," "Hand," "Book," "Hearts," and sports symbols – "FIFA Wall," "Runners," "Emblem," "Ball," and others. All flower beds and floral compositions will be watered, fertilized with mineral fertilizers, weeded, cleaned of leaves and fallen buds.

      It is worth noting that the new greenhouse complex occupies an area of 11,500 square meters. It is fully automated, unlike the old one, which was built in the 1980s. The off-site meeting also involved Igor Kulyazhev, deputy head of the Kazan executive committee, Rosa Zabbarova, manager of the municipal trust "Gorvodzelenhoz," Ayrat Akhmadullin, first deputy head of the administration of the Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts, and Albert Shainurov, chairman of the external improvement committee.
