On May 19, a 32-year-old fitness trainer from Nurlat fell off her motorcycle. As a result, she suffered a concussion and a complex dislocation with an impacted fracture of the head of the left humerus. Traumatologists at the RKB performed an emergency operation, which is referred to as "high-level piloting," reported the head of the Ministry of Health of Tatarstan, Almir Abashev, on his social media. In two hours, the doctors reached the fracture, reduced the dislocation, took a bone graft from the patient's iliac wing, reconstructed the humerus, and fixed it with screws. They then restored the tendons and muscles. "This is considered high-level piloting in emergency traumatology. Previously, such operations were performed on a planned basis; now it is possible in emergencies," explained the head of the trauma department No. 1, Gamil Garifullin. The patient will take about three months to recover.
